Overall our Winter has been on the mild side creating some good steelhead fishing and even better if you can pick your days. Yesterday was just a nasty day with snow, ice and freezing rain. The good news was it brought some good water to the lower river. This time of year spikes of water mean new steelhead in from Lake Huron!

Saturday was such an ideal day on the river with temps in upper 30’s. Steelhead were pretty scattered and we fished lots of slow holes and found few nice fish! We didnt get any but there was also a few Atlantic Salmon caught that day by other boats.

Last week I broke out the centerpin rod and did some float fishing! Making that perfect drift just off bottom and right all the cover in deep water does work well.
