Been a long run of Kings on the Betsie River this year! I started floating this river on August 20th and the August run was not super heavy but some nice pushes of hard fighting Kings did come thru the river. At the beginning of run we had a lot of cool weather in Northern Michigan but that sure changed as September went on. Warm and dry is what we got now but when it comes to King run this year no point in complaining about weather because run has been excellent. The fall color is behind also and its getting going in some areas but sure not anywhere near full color. Currently Lake Michigan is on the warm side for going on October and still plenty of Kings in the lake. Betsie River water levels are very low right now. I would guess another big push of Kings will come with next rain! Here are some pics from the last 5 weeks.
