December is often just an extension of Fall but this year it has been the beginning of winter. Myself I love winter fishing and you get the whole river to yourself or just very low fishing pressure. Currently good numbers Atlantic Salmon and Steelhead in the lower river. These post spawning Atlantics got one thing on their minds now – looking for minnows, sculpins and gobies. It’s feeding time! Steelhead have moved into the deeper water and it’s just a wonderful time of year to fish them.

Great time to hunt for Big Browns on the Au Sable and its streamer time!
