Summer heat has finally settled in here in Northern Michigan and the parts of the Au Sable have gotten very warm. These trout will live if they are just left alone now and wait for a cooler period. Water temps below Mio Dam are over 70 degrees now day and night. Fighting these trout is killing them!
For the Trout angler now is a great time to fish the smaller waters of Northern Michigan. So many true cold water smaller streams and creek to the north of the Au Sable. Great time of the year to fish the lower Au Sable River where Smallmouth are plentiful and they are loving these current water temps.
