Fall steelhead are sure a special fish here in Northern Michigan! When they start showing up it’s time to stop targeting Kings and look for chrome. On our last King trip of the season on the Betsie River, Mark landed this beautiful Steelhead.

Many love to steelhead fish in October with it being such a wonderful month in the outdoors. For more numbers and less anglers November and December are even better! Currently most of the steelhead are looking to feed on Salmon eggs and lots of different egg patterns are very productive. Swinging sculpin and baitfish patterns can also produce now and that bite will just keep getting better as we get into November.
