June was a good month for us here in Northern Michigan and I spend it chasing Big Browns in the dark on the Brown Drake, Iso and Hex hatches. All was pretty much right on schedule with pretty much ideal weather until late June. Then came the heat and that has pretty much shut down the Au Sable. At that time I was off guiding on some of the smaller cold creeks and streams further north here in Michigan. It all started in late May and lasted to mid July and we covered 5 rivers – my favorite time of the summer! Now its time to break out the mice patterns and some all night floats.

Hex started second week of June and with cool night had a few 9pm spinner falls! Shawn hooked up this beauty on Regan hex spinner.
Bob with his first Big Brown in the dark on the Hex. Even better using his brand new Winston 9′ 6at Air.
David with a beautiful Brown Trout on the Hex!
Rob was on fire tonight and put a bunch of them in the net!
Pat got this awesome evening Brown Trout on a Iso parachute
Doc with a two tone Brown Trout.  Fish seemed very healthy and not sure what happened.
Eric going big here – 28″!
Mark had a going good to night with 9 casts and 3 big trout in the net!
Tom with a good one here!!
