I just love fly fishing the Great Lakes and my place is Lake Huron. Just a great place for the streamer junky that likes hunting for big trout. I started poking around the shoreline with my drift boat the Fall, Winter and Spring I lived on Lake Huron back so long ago back 2001. Got a lot better setup these days and with full electronics on my XX Boat. Currently Lake Trout have move into the shoreline, marines, piers, reefs and harbor. They come and go with the baitfish this time of year. Have fished Tawas Bay, Harrisville and Thunder Bay over last 10 days and finding Lakers in most spots. Have seen a few Atlantics up feeding on the surface. The Lakers i have kept all had the same in them – small perch. Should see large amount of shiners moving in very soon! Won’t be long for some big Smallmouth Bass also.
Last week on Lake Huron strippin streamers. My double articulated Great Lakes Goby was always one of favorite and then had it done in white – huge success!
