Atlantic Salmon continue to move into river from Lake Huron. The major spawning period is over now and it happened in early November this year. Its an ideal setup now with post spawning Atlantics and a few just in from the lake – makes for a hungry fish and a good streamer bite. The ideal method now is swinging or strippin a streamers. As for streamers here is some of our top patterns: https://michigan-streamside.com/product-category/flies/atlantic-salmon-steelhead-streamers/

Dave and Steve had a great day this week just before Thanksgiving streamer fishing and put 4 in the net. Here are a couple of them!

Cold weather and a little snow came thru NE Michigan the last 10 days and its rifle deer season making for some very low fishing pressure. Been a great time to fish and that should continue thru December. River temps are around 40 which is ideal for this time of year and warmer weather is foretasted. Water levels are extremely low and not helping the fishing the Atlantics dont mind the shallow water to much. Not best for catching steelhead some days but still to the deep runs and deep sand holes.

Here is some more photos from the last week! I love fly fishing in the winter months and we keeping guiding 12 months a year.

This time of year its always hot food for lunches in our boats!
