Our best month of the year for strippin streamers is April! May can have its moments also depending on conditions. April has started out very good throughout the system. We had the few days of flood waters but so typical for the Au Sable it flushes out quickly and trout start hunting for big meals. More rain is coming and that is ideal! The big stuff now with sink tips has been producing. Great Lakes Deceiver in Rainbow or Chartreuse, Chromatic Peanut in yellow or white, Murdich Minnow in rainbow, Sluggo, Dungeons in olive, black or white have all produced. The lower Au Sable below Foote Dam doesn’t have any residents Browns but these spring time Atlantic Salmon sure love a streamer! Most our hunting minnows and very aggressive. Pic from last week
