After some very cold temps and frozen rivers in Northern Michigan all is back to normal February weather. The Lower Au Sable is in good shape now and there are some nice chrome steelhead in the river. River level have been very consistent of late and that has the steelhead in the deep slow winter holes. Great time for those looking for winter solitude! We are in Northern Arkansas right now running our winter trout trips but I sure keep an eye on the Au Sable and talk with those fishing it. We kick off our full time steelhead guiding right after the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo on March 11th.
