Last year Winston added the 9’6″ rods in 4wt, 5wt and 6wt in the Air2 series. Been so popular for fishing Big Water with added line control from the extra length and rare blend of power & finesse. The 5wt is my favorite and had two of them in my boat all winter for clients to use while guiding on the White River in Northern Arkansas. The White River is very big water but we are fishing very light tippets down deep with nymphs, jig streamers, shad, mop flies, worm patterns and lots of different leeches/buggers. This rod was ideal for handling light tippet and landing Big Browns. Shad kills coming thru Bull Shoals Dam late in the winter are so awesome (pictured below from this past Winter)! Large foam body shad with droppers on the surface or 2-3″ weighted shad down 6-10′ and this rod was ideal for both. So many places in the country/world the same type of flies are needed for Big Trout in Big Water – Hoppers, Foam bodied bugs, Dragon Flies, Stone Flies, 2-3″ buggers and baitfish patterns with conehead/helmet. We do have the 5wt and 6wt in stock now and ready to ship: https://michigan-streamside.com/product/winston-freshwater-air2-96-5wt/

Below are handles for the Air2 9’6″ models. Top handle is the new 7wt & 8wt. Bottom is the 4wt, 5wt and 6wt.

Just in this week are two new additions to this series: 9’6″ 7wt and 8wt. Have added to our online sales on website at: https://michigan-streamside.com/product/winston-air-2-96-7wt-fly-rod/ Both these models are in stock and ready to ship.
Added length with that awesome Winston Air2 fast action and wonderful flex is just so ideal for Steelhead, Coho and Atlantic Salmon – deep water nymphing, swinging streamers, skating topwater.
Big Water streamer fishing with the large flies for Brown Trout here is your 8wt.
Adding these 7wt and 8wt to my guide rods and if anyone want to cast one just let me know.
