Some slow run off the past week has the Au Sable up a bit and water temps are slowly climbing. Steelhead fishing keeps improving with some winter fish getting active and some bright chrome coming in from Lake Huron. Been some good size steelhead this year like the one that Barry got on Friday.
A bit of colder weather this weekend but the 10 day forecast looks excellent. Look for higher water coming and some bright chrome!
Upstream Big Browns are coming out of there winter mode and starting to look for big meals! Water temps have been close to 40 many days and this is perfect for hunting big trout. This time of year Browns love a streamer that looks like 4-6″ Rainbow or Brown Trout. Also large sculpins patterns can be very productive. Last week we broke out my Smithfly Raft and hit some of the small water on the Au Sable. Had some excellent action and Tom got our best Brown on a Great Lakes Deciever.
