We got the big blast of spring weather late last week and steelhead are coming into the Au Sable now. River is in great shape now as it came up about a foot – no flooding at all compared to west side rivers. Warm temps did not stick around long and back to a winter feel now. Forecast is for some nice March weather later this week up and should be ideal time to fish. Water temps are cold and for steelhead now look to deep slow type winter holding water. In current water temps egg patterns and nymph fished deep are ideal. Here is John with nice Au Sable steelhead from yesterday. Deep water nymphing rig with a small cluster egg pattern.
Friday from Eric’s boat of Timmy with a nice chrome steelhead!
