This time of year Smallmouth are so active and feeding throughout the day time hours. Streamers and lots of different jigs to representing crayfish, gobies, sculpins and leeches have been so productive of late.
So much different water here in NE Michigan and so little fishing pressure on these Smallmouth Bass this time of year.
Best bite of late has been late evening and right into darkness. With the recent full moon and bright nights it’s been ideal Smallmouth bite lasting till after midnight. The low light bite is all topwater patterns and dry fly fishing. Yes Dark Hex have sure started!
