Our big bugs came right on schedule this year with Brown Drakes coming heavy by June 1st. Hex started shortly after in the early hex water and we are on week two of that awesome hatch. Still pockets of Brown Drakes in some water and Iso are going strong now. The Iso is the evening hatch on the Au Sable now. For me its been all about the night time hatches and been on the river late night every night since Memorial weekend. That will continue somewhere in Northern Michigan thru mid July! Cool snap produced some big hatches of Hex but have been pretty much knocked out spinner falls the last two nights. Often on the hex my best advice to just fish late night regardless of weather. We have hit big browns late night in very cold temps on two nights this week. If bugs dont show up switch to mousing!
