After a cool May the shore line of Lake Huron finally took off in early June. Hard to beat beautiful Tawas Bay to fly fishing for Smallmouth and Carp! The last couple weeks has been excellent for Smallies but still a little slow for Carp. With the high water levels of Lake Huron makes for a lot of structure along shore line that is flooded.
Lots of action of late with some really quality Bass! All floating line for this fishery. Small weighted streamers are most effective – Sparkle Minnow, Crayfish patterns and Goby patterns. Also at time a flashy Murdich Minnow or Great Lakes Deceiver in chartreuse/white or gray/silver will get a very aggressive strike. If your looking for good carp fishing need to wait for a bit more heat.
