Winter steelheading is here on the lower Au Sable River! The past week temps have not been too cold with highs in the upper 30’s most days. Currently there are some nice bright chrome steelhead in the river but numbers are not real high right now. Look for fresh steelhead to continue to trickle in from Lake Huron this winter. Great place to fish for some Winter solitude! To have good success you need to fish lots of holes and runs now. Hit the winter water and that is deep and slow. John and Steve landed a couple real nice steelhead today and we had a few other good bites. We did see a few Atlantic Salmon but no luck on getting to hit a streamer.
