We have not seen these in the past years but this March some wonderful Atlantic Salmon have shown up in the Au Sable. At first these fish were thought to be just a fall run fish but since they dont die after they spawn some have been sticking around all winter. This year for some reason there was a nice push in March that spawned and now dropping back toward Lake Huron. Here are one the Dan and Jerry got a couple days ago.
These have been very aggressive and crushing bait fish patterns and our intruders that we used in the fall. Mostly either white and flashy or naturals looking like a goby. Sink tip and stripping streamers or switch rods and swinging a fly have both been productive. Also float line with long leaders and smaller weighted streamers like sparkle minnow have been productive.
