Guide Kelly Neuman is now a certified captain for big lake fishing. Join him for fantastic fall fly fishing for some big, bruising lake trout and an occasional bonus brown or Atlantic. Stripping streamers in late fall for these monsters is about as fun as it gets, and can extend your season beyond your usual limits.
Late fall brings big lake trout into the shallows of Lake Huron. Bays like Tawas and Thunder concentrate the bruisers as they feed and prepare for spawning. Streamers stripped on sinking lines produce powerful strikes and fun fights.
Check out the videos below to see some of the excitement. The bottom one is our feature on Michigan Out of Doors TV.
November and December is the time that Lake Trout and lake run Brown Trout are feeding on schools of baitfish to build up their reserves. We use both large and small streamers including articulated patterns like Great Lakes Deceivers.
