I offer guided fly fishing float trips for all four seasons in Northern Michigan and Northern Arkansas. State of Michigan and Arkansas guide licenses, Au Sable River USFS Federal permit, USCG Captains license for Great Lakes. My home water is the Au Sable River & Lake Huron and it offers excellent fly fishing for trophy Brown Trout, Steelhead, Atlantic Salmon, Lake Trout and Smallmouth Bass. The Betsie River & Frankfort in NW Michigan is like home to me for the last half of August and September for King Salmon. We also float a number of other rivers throughout Northern Michigan – the waters we fish will be chosen based on time of year, water conditions and your species preferences.
January thru March its off to Northern Arkansas to guide on White River & Norfork River for Big Brown Trout.
There is no better way to fly fish Michigan rivers than by floating them in one our comfortable river boats. You’ll be perched high above the water, running down beautiful river with a perfect shot at every spot a trophy Trout, Steelhead, King Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, or Smallmouth might be!
Streamside Guide Service was founded by Kelly Neuman in 1992 and has provided amazing experiences for anglers all over North America. Kelly brings 25+ years experience to guiding and a passion for sharing the amazing fly angling opportunities that northern Michigan holds. Kelly is also a master rod builder and can create you a custom fly rod you’ll always cherish.
Our Guides:
We fish year round, changing our target species with what the season offers. We have the highest quality tackle and boats. Our river boats hold 1 or 2 anglers and arrange trips for larger groups with multiple boats and guides. Typically are float trips are 8-10 hours and we provide a fine grilled shore meal along with all of the equipment needed.
2024 Guided Float Trip Rates
- Full-day: trips are 8-10 hours and include all equipment needed, flies, grilled shore lunch and drinks. The cost is $550 for two anglers or $450 for one angler.
- Half-day: We typically do not offer half day float trips. In the cold weather months we do offer a half day steelhead trip or trout trip when conditions are cold and the days are short. Cost for these are $375 for one or two anglers.
- Deposit: To book a trip a deposit of $250 a day per guide reserved is required. We do accept major credit cards, checks, Venmo or Paypal. If trips are cancelled with in 30 days of trip date deposits are forfeited. If trips are cancelled within 7 days of your scheduled date full payment is charged unless arrangements are made with us.
- Overnight: overnight trips can be customized to meet your desires. ex: trout and smallmouth trips, daytime fishing with Hex fishing at night, etc.
Large groups and multiple boat trips: Streamside can provide trips for larger groups, including additional boats and guides for larger groups. Contact Streamside for a single point of contact in handling your group plans.
